Lura dedicates her life to interpreting the great masterpieces of classical repertoire because their passion and complexity bring healing and beauty to a confused world. She has developed a unique method of movement and sound production called The Volanti Technique which transports audiences on a journey to faraway places and times. The imaginations of her listeners are carried away on a tide of many currents, narratives and emotions. Lura can create an atmosphere of introspection or whirl her audience along on an adventure of intense emotions. She sometimes plays with profound stillness, and other times with blistering speed. Her dynamic range can drop to whisper mode or become thunderingly loud in a heartbeat. Lura employs her vivid imagination to bring alive the intention of every composer. Her performances are cathartic, magisterial, and invite listeners to access a world of art and beauty that represents something bigger than all of us.

​Lura is the Resident Keyboardist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Principal Pianist of the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, a Steinway Artist, and a faculty member of the esteemed Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore.
